Over the past couple of years, the people over at Parrot have released a multitude of Bluetooth-enabled products, including here several products designed especially for the auto-accessories market. And that's exactly the type of device we'll talk about as follows, namely the company's RK8200, launched back in the first half of 2008, a car audio system that also acts as a very effective handsfree system.
Thus, the Parrot RK8200 is an FM/AM RDS car stereo, featuring all the connections required for digital and analog music. However, on the other hand, it is also a Bluetooth hands-free kit boasting sophisticated hands-free calling functions.
Thus, the phonebooks on the cell phones and RK8200 are automatically synchronized, allowing users to initiate and take calls without touching the phone. Moreover, they can also browse the list of contacts on the TFT screen and listen to the kit read the names in the phonebook via Text-To-Speech synthesis. Furthermore, one can even make calls using the built-in voice recognition feature, and when a call comes in, the contact’s name is displayed and the music is automatically muted. When the call is completed, the music is unmuted.
All the information from the Parrot RK8200 or phone is displayed on a particularly bright 2.4-inch TFT screen with 262 144 colors. The keypad sports an ergonomic, modern design, and the main commands are accessed by means of a central rotary button. A highly practical storage compartment is located behind the removable front panel, ideal for hiding a phone, MP3 player or USB flash drive.
Moreover, the Parrot RK8200 provides a set of advanced signal processing functions. The two microphones built into the front panel take advantage of Parrot's new DCBM noise reduction technology (Dynamic Choice of Best Microphone): the RK8200 automatically detects the position of the person speaking and dynamically chooses the active microphone.
It is a truly full-duplex hands-free kit / car stereo with echo cancellation, so that all the conversations are crystal-clear and fully intelligible in all circumstances. Equipped with a 180W amplifier and unique sound effects like "Virtual Super Bass", this car stereo adjusts the volume according to the surrounding noise, giving you a new music experience. Seven equalizer bands allow you to fine-tune the settings to suit your vehicle's acoustics or your preferences, unless you opt for one of the 11 predefined settings.
The Parrot RK8200 retails for around 200 Euro (290 US dollars), which is quite an affordable price tag, if we take a look at all the features this device can provide. |
