LATEST FROM SEA-DOO:

Sea-Doo SeaScooter VS Supe... Sea-Doo SeaScooter Explore...
[ View all gadgets from Sea-Doo ]

The people over at Sea-Doo have released a fairly large number of underwater vehicles over the past few years, targeting a very wide range of users, from professionals to children. However, the device you're about to see as follows, namely the SeaScooter VS Supercharged, is no kids toy, because it offers a set of features most advanced divers will most likely find quite attractive.

Much in the same way as most of the other similar devices available on the market, the underwater scooter is powered by a rechargeable battery, which comes in the form of a battery pod, attached to the body via quick release latches. Unfortunately, the level of autonomy offered by the battery is not exactly fantastic, namely 1.5 hours of continuous use, after a full recharge of around 10 hours.

Despite having a very “dangerous” name, which would suggest a pimped-up motorbike or car, the truth of the matter is that the SeaScooter VS Supercharged can attain a maximum speed of just around 3 mph / (4.8 km/h), which is rather average, compared to other models available on the market. It can also go as deep as 30 meters (100 feet), which is, indeed, not fantastic, but it's not very likely that even advanced amateur divers (the main targeted segment of this device) will go that deep.

Another very important feature provided by the device from Sea-Doo is represented by its very dimensions. Thus, the scooter measures just 612 x 385 x 312 mm and weighs around 8.2 kilograms (rechargeable battery included), which makes it quite easy to store and to maneuver.

Since any malfunction could prove to be potentially life-threatening under water, the scooter has been equipped with various protection systems, the most important being the extensive level of protection against water provided for the device's electrical circuits.

The SeaScooter VS Supercharged is available at several retailers for under 600 US dollars, which makes it a good choice for those users who have always wanted to purchase such a product, but are not willing to cough up the rather high amount required for a professional model.
