Paintball has been quite a popular past time activity over the past 15 years, and this is the reason why quite a lot of accessories especially designed to be used during these “confrontations” have been developed over time. And one of the most impressive such contraptions is the one you're about to see as follows, namely the Paintball Panzer presented by the people over at Funtrak, a mini-tank that will allow users to engage in motorized battles, even if the “shells” won't be more than simple balls filled with paint.
The mini-armored vehicle can hold only one person and has been fitted with a fire-while-driving paintball cannon, which makes it quite a formidable weapon. Nevertheless, even if this thing might seem to be quite dangerous, the manufacturers assure us that it's perfectly safe for the driver. Thus, the Paintball Panzer features a glass reinforced plastic (GRP) chassis, as well as an engine firewall, designed to protect the driver against the heat generated by the mini-tank's GX390 Honda engine that powers the hydraulic drive motors.
Furthermore, the driver is protected by a rollover bar and a roll cage, assuring the fact that he/she will be safe at all times while going around in this thing (which, by the way, can also go on normal roads, at least in UK). For additional safety, the engine power output can be pre-set to suit all ages and temperaments, and the safety marshals on every field can even have their own engine cut-off blipper with a range of 100 yards.
However, as you might expect, this thing is not cheap at all, as it is completely custom built and painted (actually, customers have to wait for around 3 months for their unit to be ready). Thus, the paintball enthusiasts who actually want to get a Panzer for themselves will have to fork out around 8,000 British pounds (that's over 16,000 US dollars), which is a pretty big sum to pay, even if this machine will allow users to take their paintballing skills to a whole new level. |
