In-dash car audio systems have changed quite a lot during the past few years, as the manufacturers tried to comply both with the customers’ requirements and the evolution of technology. And a very good example of such a device is the KD-DV7300 launched by JVC back in January 2007, a DVD/CD receiver that also features a built-in USB port and multiple connectivity options.
Since USB flash drives have become the portable storage solution of choice for a large number of users, the KD-DV7300 has been fitted with a slot that accommodates such devices. Nevertheless, the audio system does have a drawback (quite surprisingly, actually, since we're talking about a very recent device) namely the fact that it supports flash drives with storage capacities of up to only 1 GB.
However, the KD-DV7300 is also compatible with more “classical” media, as for example CD/CD-R/CD-RW and DVD-R/-RW,+R/+RW/Multi-Border discs, and can play MP3/WMA files as well as DVD audio and video. Moreover, it features a wide array of connectivity options, since it has been fitted with adjustable line input terminals, 2 pairs of line output terminals, video output terminals, a second audio output, subwoofer output terminals with Level/Frequency control as well as an optical digital output.
And in order to complete this assortment, JVC has also throw in an iPod connector, as well as a connector for satellite radio. The device also sports some pretty impressive audio functions. Thus, it supports DTS/Dolby Digital/MPEG audio, features a dual zone surround system and comes with a digital 7-Band iEQ and can provide quite a lot of decibels, since it has a power output of 220W (MOSFET 50W X 4) or 20W X 4 RMS.
The KD-DV7300 DVD/CD Receiver with Built-In USB Port is available for around 400 US dollars, which is quite a high price for an in-dash car audio system, especially one that's tagged as “affordable” and “entry-level” by the company. |
