One of the most serious issues faced by most people who own more than one portable device is represented by the fact that they have to carry along with them quite a high number of power adapters whenever they're going on the road. This is the reason why the Tekkeon company launched in July 2007 the myCharger, a device that can power (via the included adapters) a very wide range of handhelds and portables.
The charger allows users to give up on all the other power adapters and replace them with a single device. This is possible due to the fact that the myCharger comes with seven adapter tips for connecting to most models of phones or multimedia players currently available on the market, as for example the iPhone (using the iPhone/iPod USB cable), the iPod (using the iPhone/iPod USB cable), the BlackBerry, as well as LG, Motorola, Samsung and Sony Ericsson mobile phones.
Moreover, the device from Tekkeon is compatible with a wide variety of add-on adapters (available separately, though) for a multitude of other 5V devices, including Bluetooth headsets, digital cameras, other mobile phones, MP3 players, PDAs, portable games, and portable media players. The manufacturer also provide an optional travel pack that includes interchangeable international plugs for use abroad, and the device itself sports a retractable prong, so that it can be carried around just about anywhere.
And since we're talking about portability, it's worth mentioning the fact that the myCharger is quite small and lightweight, measuring just around 5.08 cm x 6.98 cm x 2.54 cm, at a weight of around 62.36 grams.
The device from Tekkeon is available for around 24-25 US dollars at various online retailers, which is not at all expensive for such a versatile and useful device. |
