Powering one's portable devices while being on the go can sometimes prove to be quite a difficult task, especially if the user is traveling in a foreign country that uses a different power system than the one the respective devices were designed for. Of course, one can always use some adapters/inverters, but these require time and the presence of a power outlet. For this reason, the Universal 150-Country Power Pack was launched back in the first half of 2007, a device that can provide the required power to keep the user's devices running for extended periods of time.
Thus, as the vendors inform us, this device is at least 10 times more powerful than any conventional battery and is also extremely versatile, as it can be used for powering quite a wide and diverse range of devices, from cell phones to iPods, PDAs, PSPs, digital cameras and more for up to 96 hours.
The device is powered via a universal mains charger that has four adapters (supporting 110-volts to 240-volts), thus allowing users to recharge the power pack in 150 countries, or the power pack can be charged via a laptop's USB port. Moreover, since it is only around 9 centimeters long, the device can simply be held in the same hand as the cell phone when making calls, allowing them to charge the phone while talking.
As mentioned earlier, the device can power a wide variety of devices, and in order to do so, it comes with nine cables. Moreover, it's quite portable, as it measures 8.9 cm x 3.81 cm x 3.81 cm, at a weight of around 70 grams.
The device retails for around 70 US dollars, which is a little expensive, considering the fact that there are quite a lot of similar devices available on the market for lower price tags. |
