When it comes to watches, nothing should strike you as odd nowadays, since timepieces' design seems to have no boundaries. People go either for more conservative, but very expensive watches, or for funky and weird-looking, but more accessible timepieces. There's something for everyone, even for the visually impaired persons, thanks to Auguste Reymond, who has come up with the Braille Hi-Touch wrist watch.
Unlike other devices of this type, the Hi-Touch watch is different, meaning that it doesn't use vocal readings in order to let the wearer know the time. I suppose a watch for the blind that comes with a voice reading out the current time is more convenient than having to feel one's way through, but then again there will be people who prefer to tell the time in a discreet manner.
The Hi-Touch watch features a resolutely contemporary design and an easy-to-use system, specially made for the visually impaired, with a hinge at 10 o'clock, which gives access to a dial with raised hour-markers and special hands for a tactile reading of the time.
Made of stainless steel, the Hi-Touch features an ETA quartz movement and functions such as hours, minutes, tactile readings. The dial comes in anthracite, silver or metalized blue versions ( even though that's not to be admired by the wearers themselves), while the strap is a black rubber band.
Just like its manufacturer praise it, the Hi-Touch features a contemporary design, high comfort and easy handling. Classy and practical, the Hi-Touch Braille watch doesn't bear a price tag yet, which means that you have two options. You can either wait for the pricing info to be made public by the manufacturer, or, you can contact it directly, if patience is not exactly your best feature. |
