In a world dominated by cell-phones and multi-functional gadgets, it would seem that the wrist watch has become an obsolete accessory. But that changes when it comes to the Mr. Jones Watches. With a perfect sense of humor, cultural irony and dry wit, Crispin Jones, the man behind the Mister, described his concepts as work which lives in the intersection between Fine Art and Design, expressing his critical perspective over the world.
Released back in the second half of 2007, The Decider, part of a limited edition collection of timepieces, makes the inherent implication of a timepiece obvious. In fact, all of the limited edition models in his line are comments on the daily conundrums of life.
The Decider is a watch that helps you make decisions: as the seconds tick round you see either the word "YES" or "NO" displayed on the watch face; when you need to make a decision you simply look at your watch for your answer. If you are inclined to cheat then you can pull out the winding crown which stops the mechanism temporarily giving you an answer with no ambiguity.
It features a stainless steel case and two tone red and black leather with white stitching strap. Sporting a single jewel quartz mechanism, this original timepiece is also waterproof, up to 5ATM. Its dimensions are perfectly thought, to add it class and style. The simplicity of its shapes and lines make it irresistible to anyone.
The watch comes in a MJW presentation box with a specially commissioned illustration by Nadine Faye-James. Inside the box you'll find the guarantee card - each watch is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of purchase against any original manufacturing defect.
If you are lucky enough to still find one, since there were only 100 pieces of The Decider made, you can purchase it for approximately 70 pounds sterling. |
