When ATI released the RV670 graphic processor architecture they succeeded in offering the world's first GPU to be built on a 55nm technology. Club 3D is one of the graphic card manufacturers that have a range of graphic solutions which are build using graphic processors from the two most important GPU developers, namely ATI/AMD and NVIDIA.
Their ATI/AMD-based graphics cards lineup features an overclocked version of the innovative HD 3870 GPU, which is part of the performance rated HD 3800 series. The card features a single slot fansink design. The PCB itself will only take up a single slot, but the cooling system might cause some crowdedness inside your desktop PC.
The GPU is one of the most innovative in the market, as it is build with 666 million transistors on a 55nm technology, which means that it will offer enhanced graphic performance but with a lower consumption rate. The 55nm architectural build also means that the GPU has lower manufacturing costs, which is always important.
The technical specs on the card will feature an overclocked clock speed of 800MHz, which comes close to the standard speed of the HD 3870X2, a total memory size of 512MB GDDR4 running at a 2340MHz memory speed. The card is build on a PCI Express 2.0 bus interface, which means that if you are to fully appreciate the card's graphic power, you will need a motherboard that features at least one PCI Express x16 graphics lane.
The card comes with support for ATI's CrossFireX technology, thus allowing users enjoy the graphic power of two HD 3870 cards, in one system. The CrossFire connection will require a power supply that can offer a minimum 650W of power. |
