LG Electronics is one of the top LCD monitors manufacturers and currently provides a complete range of displays that accommodate virtually every potential user. The new 52 series from LG also brings up solutions that range from 19" devices to todays hardcore gamers that enjoy 24" gaming or movie watching.
The LG W2452T is the boss in this new series and has some features that people might find interesting. First of all LG went all the way with the design and encased the device in a black glossy frame with a chrome-like bottom side. The blue light power button is also a nice touch. The monitor has a 16:10 aspect ratio with a 1920x1200 resolution.
The feature list LG prepared for the W2452T is not actually impressive, but includes some features that will assure problem free functionality where other monitors might fail. For example the ez Zooming feature allows resolution cycling with the touch of a button. The Photo Effect function can be used to adjust picture tones and colors, or view it as monochrome.
Although the display features a 16:10 aspect ratio, LG makes sure that 4:3 sources are not left out by adding black bars or rescaling the image to fit the screen. Some LCD monitors don`t provide users with this kind of advantage and may cause problems when it comes to sources with different AR.
For gamers and the like LG designed the new device with a 5ms GTG (Gray to Gray) response time. This kind of feature will make sure nobody complains about ghosting or blurring images. The DFC (digital fine contrast) is set at 10.000:1, which is mostly a marketing scheme since the effective contrast is probably around 1000:1, but the device uses an algorithm that allows certain areas of an image in some cases to show a more powerful contrast.
The monitor has no HDMI but comes with both VGA and DVi and has a price range of 399$-449$. |
