Although most people consider Sony's PS3 to be nothing more than an over-hyped video games console, the truth of the matter is that this device is actually capable of doing a lot more than simply play the latest titles. No, it's also got a Blu-ray player and enough computing power to allow users to browse the Internet and communicate via various online instant messaging systems. Exactly for this reason, the people over at Logitech have launched back in the first half of 2008 the Cordless MediaBoard Pro, a device that will allow PLAYSTATION3 users to quickly set up profiles, enter Web addresses, and send text messages.
The device from Logitech has a very lightweight body and thin profile, which will make it feel right at home in just about any home. Furthermore, it provides extended control options over media playback, since it sports several media keys.
Another very interesting feature of the PS3 keyboard from Logitech is represented by the built-in touch pad with vertical scrolling, which virtually eliminates the need for a mouse and allows users to control the PS3 in a much faster and easier manner.
As its name says it, the Cordless MediaBoard Pro connects wirelessly to the PS3, by using 2.4 GHz wireless technology, which grants it a functioning range of around 30 feet (10 meters) away from the gaming console. Furthermore, the keyboard is also Bluetooth-compatible (after all, it uses the same spectrum of frequencies), which means that it can work quite easily with Bluetooth-enabled computers (probably with most notebooks too).
It's also important to mention that the Cordless MediaBoard Pro uses two AA batteries in order to work quite well for over 200 hours, which makes is a device with quite an OK level of autonomy, all things considered.
The Cordless MediaBoard Pro from Logitech sells for around 80 US dollars, which is a sum well spent, given the device's extended level of versatility and multiple uses. |
