Since the first models arrived on the market, illuminated keyboards have always been quite popular with a lot of users, especially those who tend to work a lot during nightime or dim light conditions. And since it's among the world's best-known manufacturers of computer peripherals, the Logitech company has launched its own version of such a product back in September 2008, dubbed simply the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard.

The device has a very sleek, minimalist design, providing pretty much everything one might require from such a product, without overcrowding it with all sorts of unnecessary extras. It has an ultra-thin, 9.3 mm profile and transparent frame, as well as a soft-touch palm rest and full-size key layout, which will certainly improve the user's level of comfort.

The peripheral sports bright, laser-etched, backlit keys, which provide precise illumination that can be adjusted to suit one's needs. Moreover, just the characters are illuminated, so users won't get more light than they absolutely require.

That's because extensive research on the subject has demonstrated that the a longer distance required for each keystroke (key travel) improves one's typing experience.

The Logitech Illuminated Keyboard sells for around 80 US dollars, which is not even that bad a price point, given the features this thing has to offer.
