Most people who use PCs don't concern themselves with a high quality mouse. They usually use a "good-enough mouse" that allows them to do their job. That is mostly because a lot of people use their computers for tasks that don't require a high level of pointer precision. Aesthetics are a non-issue, since most people don't even look at their mouse, since it's covered by the hand over half the time. As in any domain, there are some who require a high quality precision mouse for important tasks such as CAD engineering or games. I know, games are not that important! Well you try telling this to an addicted 16 year old who plays World of Warcraft 8 hours a day, 360 days a year (some time power goes down, so that there are not 365 days). While this may (and I stress the word “may”) be somewhat exaggerated, there is no doubt that the WoW phenomenon has taken impressive proportions. As such, SteelSeries decided to make some money by offering WoW players a special designed mouse that fits the game theme. The peripheral really has impressive looks. Sporting a brushed aluminum surface with rubber grips on the side, it is sure that long gaming hours will not be a problem. The top side of the mouse comes with four arrow-like LED illuminated stripes. The interesting thing about these stripes is that users ca choose between 16 million different colors, so if the red-orange theme that comes with the product pictures doesn't fit your tastes, you can just turn them blue or whatever. For performance oriented WoW (and not only) players, the device comes with 15 programmable buttons and laser technology. Just don't expect customized macros as Blizzard considers players have to demonstrate their own skill.
The mouse can be found at just under 100$, which makes it a pretty good choice, especially for those users who are looking for a device capable of providing both a good level of performance during games and a very attractive look on the side.
