The A4 Tech company has launched quite a number of gaming-oriented devices over the years, some of them offering some pretty interesting features at very affordable price tags. And one such device is the X-718F Gaming Mouse launched in December 2005, a device that provides users with the same enhanced gaming features as the X-718, but also adds a few interesting extras.
Thus, like other models from the late-2005 generation of mice from A4-Tech, this device has also been fitted with the very popular 3XFire button, an option that allows the users to activate the fire function 3 times by clicking a button only once.
Other than this particular feature, the X-718F offers pretty much the same specs and functions as its predecessor. Thus, it allows the users to chose the optical sensor's resolution, since the 5 DPI Shift functions allows both gamers and ordinary users to chose between 600, 800,1200,1600 and 2000 DPI resolutions. Moreover, the scroll wheel changes color between shifts, thus allowing the users to know exactly what resolution they're using at a certain time.
The X-718F model also includes A4 Tech's extra speed optical engine that provides users with extremely accurate and extremely smooth cursor movements. Moreover, the device is quite resilient to extensive use, as the buttons support 8,000,000 presses, while the mouse itself supports up to 2.5 million meters traveled during its service lifetime.
The mouse is available in 2 different versions, one for big-handed people, that measures 12.14 cm x 6.85 cm x 3.93 cm and weighs around 122.46 grams, while the second one, for people with normal hands, measures 11.43 cm x 5.84 cm x 4.06 cm at a weight of 117.93 grams. The device works with all the OS versions from Microsoft, including Windows Vista.
The X-718F Gaming Mouse is available at several online retailers somewhere in the 15-30 US dollars price range, which seems to be quite a small price to pay for such a versatile mouse. |
