The Inno Disk company has launched a relatively large number of portable storage solutions over time, including here a few specific devices designed especially for “special purposes”. And this is exactly what can be said about the MobileBank model, released back in the first half of 2006, a portable storage solution that works as a “bridge” between Nokia and Sony Ericsson mobile phones and a PC.
Thus, beside being able to connect to the aforementioned portable communication devices, the MobileBank also works as a power charger of the mobile phone when connected to the USB port. However, the most important selling point of the MobileBank from Inno Disk is most likely represented by the very large number of functions it's capable of carrying out.
Thus, the device allows users to upload / transfer MP3s, videos, games, wallpapers, applications, ringtones, and any other supported files from a PC to a mobile phone and vice versa, download photos from the phone to the MobileBank, send/receive SMS messages, download and update the phonebook, synchronize Outlook to the cell phone, not to mention the possibility of carrying out backup/restore operations to/from the MobileBank.
Unfortunately, the MobileBank provides only a relatively limited amount of storage space, since it's available solely in 128MB – 1 GB versions. However, the device does provide a relatively OK data transfer capacity, since it connects to a host computer via an USB 2.0 interface (backwards compatible with USB 1.1), which means that it can attain data transfer rates of up to 480 Mbps.
As most other devices of this type, the MobileBank is quite portable, measuring around 69 x 30 x 13 mm, at a weight of around 11 grams. Furthermore, it works with the large majority of the operating systems around, namely Windows ME/2000/XP, MAC OS (probably Vista as well, no word on Linux, unfortunately). |
