Although the gaming mouses' market is dominated by only a handful of specialized manufacturers, every now and then we come across some peripheral of this type manufactured by a quasi-unknown company, which, nevertheless, provides certain features and specs that help it compete directly against some of the high-end products launched by the big names in the business. And this is exactly the case with the FightMouse Advanced launched by the Germany-based company Revoltec in the first half of 2007, a device that will most likely impress even the most demanding of gamers.
The first thing that draws the attention to the FightMouse is its external aspect, as the device has been specially designed for full-hand contact. Thus, all the fingers can be comfortably positioned on the mouse, which means that the free movement of the mouse is improved due to the fact that the fingers do not longer touch the sliding surface of the mouse pad. Moreover, this highly ergomonic design also helps to reduce fatigue symptoms at an early stage, and the bottom of the FightMouse Advanced has been fitted with Teflon sliders, which further enhance the speed of use.
Another interesting constructive feature of Revoltec's mouse is the fact that users can adjust its weight, with the help of 10, 15 and 20 gram weights, thus attaining a higher level of equilibrium during gameplay.
As most modern gaming mice, the FightMouse sports an adjustable resolution system, as its software permits the configuration of four different dpi levels, starting at 400 dpi and up to 2000 dpi (400, 800, 1600 and 2000 dpi respectively). Moreover, the device sports a total of three freely programmable buttons, including the two buttons at the left-hand side and the scroll wheel.
Revoltec's FightMouse Advanced retails for around 45 US dollars, which is a bit high, considering the fact that similar devices from much better-known manufacturers are available on the market at comparable price tags. |
