The people over at TwinMos have released quite an impressive product line-up over time, including a very large number of flash-based USB storage solutions (a.k.a. flash drives). And that's exactly the type of device we'll talk about as follows, namely the Mobile Disk X5 model, launched back in the second half of 2006, a device that offers both very large storage capacities and a very special design.



Thus, as mentioned above, one of the most important selling points of the Mobile Disk X5 is its external design. Thus, the drive sports a white fashionable-looking casing with a thumb size and lightweight features that will surely attract modern customers. Furthermore, much like in the case of the X4, the cap of X5 is designed to be able to turn at 360 degrees, which makes it extremely versatile, taking into consideration just how crowded the USB ports' area can prove to be nowadays.



Beside its external casing, the device also provides some pretty cool features on the inside as well, since the flash drive is available in 512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB versions, which means that the manufacturers have tried to target all the market segments, at least according to today's standards. Moreover, as most other modern USB drives, the device comes packed with its own password protection software, and is completely plug and play. Furthermore, it connects to a host computer via an USB 2.0 interface, which means that it can attain a maximum data transfer rate of around 480 Mbps, and doesn't require any external power sources.



The TwinMos drive works with the most popular operating systems on the market, including here Windows 98/ 2000/ ME/ XP/ Vista, Mac 10.1+, Linux 2.4+, has a working temperature range of 0 – 70 Celsius degrees and is quite portable, measuring around 80 x 22 x 10 mm, at a weight of around 15 grams.



As most of the USB Flash Drives from TwinMos available on the market, the X5 is also quite accessible, as the 8 GB version, for example, retails for just around 90 US dollars, a relatively fair price to pay for such an item.
