Since the Universal Serial Bus (USB) is just about the most popular type of connectivity interface around, the number of devices that make use of it in order to connect to a host computer is quite impressive. This “overcrowding” of the USB ports' area has led to the development of USB hubs, which nowadays come in just about all the shapes and sizes, ranging from large models with various extra-functions to the particular device you're about to see as follows, namely the USB 2.0 4-Port Hub presented by the people over at USB Fever since the second half of 2007, which the vendors tout to be just about the world's smallest device of this type.

And by the looks of things, the vendor might not be exaggerating too much, as the device measures around 5.8 x 28 x 12 mm, at a weight of solely 21 grams. However, since sometimes a picture's worth a thousand words, you should take a closer look to the enclosed photo, which clearly shows the fact that the device is very compact, actually smaller than 2 SD cards placed together).

The device supports both USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 interfaces, which means that it can attain a maximum data transfer rate of around 480 Mbps. Furthermore, like most other devices of this type available on the market, the USB 2.0 4-Port Hub also sports a LED indicator, which informs the user whether power is on and whether data is currently being transferred.

Although it's quite small, the USB 2.0 4-Port Hub has a rather interesting external look, with casing that features a high-graded alloy with metallic silver surface. This metallic coating may grant it a more stylish look, but the hub's internals are still cheap plastic.

The device presented by USB Fever retails for around 10 US dollars, which not only makes it one of the smallest such products available on the market, but also one of the cheapest.
