Paper shredders are amongst the most useful devices ever developed, as they allow users to keep certain documents secret. However, these devices are generally quite bulky and can't be carried around, and this is the reason that determined the people from Brando to launch the USB Portable Paper Shredder, a device that allows users to shred their documents even when they're on the go, so that their being in a rush didn't stop them from getting rid of compromising or official documents no longer needed.
The USB paper shredder is actually almost identical to a normal one, at least from the point of view of its functionality. Thus, all this device does is shred the documents into little pieces, thus rendering them unreadable. It can shred 5 sheets of paper at a time (as long as the combined thickness of the paper sheets is above 4 mm), and works with several paper formats, including A6 (or folded A4), cheques, etc. Moreover, it sports a forward/reverse switch, should the user discover that they've started shredding the wrong set of documents.
The main selling point of the USB Portable Paper Shredder is another one, though. Thus, the device is quite portable, since it measures just around 253 mm x 69 mm x 48 mm, at a weight of around 332 grams. It is powered either via the 107-cm USB cable (if the user happens to be around a powered USB port), or by 4 AA batteries.
The device from Brando will be available for around 23 US dollars, which seems to be quite a reasonable amount to pay for a device that could solve one's “shredding” needs while on the go, because, after all, who knows when you'll be forced to destroy a couple of top secret/highly sensitive documents. |
