As computers are slowly turning into full-fledged multimedia centers, the demand for displays that will allow the users to fully enjoy the multimedia content being played back increases, and this is the reason why the number of 22-inch models that have hit the market lately has also skyrocketed. And this is exactly the type of device we'll talk about as follows, namely the D22W12 from V7, launched back in the second half of 2007, a multimedia display that provides certain interesting features at a relatively reasonable price tag.
Thus, the V7 D22W12 is a 22-inch widescreen PC LCD monitor, which provides a display area of around 474 x 296 mm, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 16:10 aspect ratio, as well as a brightness level of 300 cd/m2 (or nits). Unfortunately, the response time is rather average (just around 5 ms), which means that it can be employed for a relatively wide range of activities, but one shouldn't expect any phenomenal performances out of it.
Moreover, the LCD monitor supports horizontal / vertical viewing angles of 170 / 160 degrees, can display up to 16.2 million colors, and has some rather common vertical and horizontal frequencies (31.5 - 83 Khz / 56 - 76 Khz), as well as an 140 MHz video bandwidth.
Furthermore, the device offers quite a few user-adjustment options, including here Auto set-up, Brightness, Contrast, Phase, Clock, H/V position, Color, Sharpness, OSD position, Language, Volume, Recall and requires only around 45 watts of power for normal functioning. The device also provides pretty much the standard connectivity options for PC monitors, namely analog VGA and DVI-D interfaces, as well an audio input for the built-in speakers (2 x 1.5 W).
Despite of its rather large size, the peripheral doesn't occupy too much space around the user's desks and office, since it measures around 509.9 x 423.6 x 202.4 mm, at a weight of 4.9 kilos, and it also provides some sort of a security feature via the included Kensington lock.
The D22W12 is available at several retailers for around $259.85 - $275, which is a rather fair price range, below the normal one for this type of products. |
