Over the past few years, the Viewsonic company has managed to make a name for itself as a manufacturer of relatively reliable and affordable LCD PC monitors. However, the company has also released a few models that target professional users in particular and that’s exactly the case with the device you’re about to see as follows, namely the VP2250wb, introduced in early 2008.
First and foremost, it’s important to note the fact that the VP2250wb features a 21.6-inch Color TFT active matrix LCD, which offers an actual display area of 18.3 x 11.4 inches. The panel supports maximum resolutions of up to 1680x1050 pixels and also delivers a typical brightness level of around 300 cd/m2 and an 1000:1 typical contrast ratio (3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio).
Furthermore, the viewing angles are also rather normal for this family of devices (170 degrees on both horizontal and vertical directions), while the response times are quite OK (2ms gray-to-gray (avg); 5ms black-white-black (typ)). The display also sports a light source with a typical functioning life of around 40,000 hours, and the manufacturer also mentions the fact that the panel’s surface has been coated with a special anti-glare substance.
Another very important feature worth mentioning about the VP2250wb is the fact that it sports OptiColor technology, which means that it can deliver 106% NTSC color saturation for richer, more precise colors. Furthermore, the monitor’s ViewMatch functions allows users to adjust a wide array of color-related features, as for example the brightness, contrast and temperature (sRGB, 9300K, 7500K, 6500K-default, 5000K, user color-RGB).
The device doesn’t provide any truly amazing connectivity options (solely the usual 15-pin mini D-sub / DVI-D), but does come packed with a VESA wall-mount interface and detachable base for ergonomic flexibility with pivot, height, tilt and 120º swivel adjustments.
The Viewsonic VP2250wb can be found at a surprisingly low price tag, just around 430 – 450 US dollars, which is actually a pretty OK range, taking into account the features and specs this thing can provide. |
