ViewSonic is a worldwide provider of visual display solutions, its vast range of products including LCD monitors, LCD TVs, projectors and other technologies designed to provide users with every comfort-related feature they might need, regardless of their work environment or household. As a leading designer in the IT revolution, ViewSonic has earned the respect of users by providing high quality solutions. Most LCD monitors are CCFL backlit because it is a lot cheaper. But ViewSonic has decided to announce a new contender on the LED backlit LCD market with an affordable price, the VLED221wm. It's a 22-inch widescreen panel with 16:10 AR. The LED backlit technology is far superior compared to its CCFL counterpart because it requires a lot less power and produces sharper and crisper images. By using the 118% OptiColor NTSC Technology, ViewSonic has designed the monitor to display 118% of the entire NTSC color gamut with precision color rendering. This is further enhanced by the spectacular 12.000:1 dynamic contrast ratio used for rendering clear white and dark black surfaces. Pixel precision is further improved by the 3ms response time, which is among the best you can find these days. For fashionistas and styled gamers, ViewSonic placed the VLED221wm's panel in a stylish case, with a glossy black finish and a ultra-thin bezel. Plus, in order to provide users for different connectivity options, the company has equipped the display with DVI and VGA inputs. It's rather disappointing to find out that the device doesn't have any HDMI inputs, especially when cheaper competitors have been using HDMI for some time now. The integrated speakers feature SRS WOW HD sound for extended frequency range and improved sound. This would have been an easy to use feature had their been an HDMI connector present. Remember how we said the price is affordable? How does $450 sound? Pretty good for a LED backlit solution. |
