The possibility to connect several computers to a single desktop is extremely useful for several categories of users, especially those who have to work with very large amounts of data, game testers, programmers, etc. And this is exactly the reason why the people from Gefen have decided to make things a lot easier for the aforementioned categories of users and launched back in the first half of 2008 the USB to DVI Graphics Adapter, a device which offers a very high degree of versatility.
Thus, the main selling point of the USB to DVI Graphics Adapter is that it allows users to connect extra monitors to one's computer via the USB port. The extra monitors can be configured to either mirror one's primary screen or extend the Windows desktop, allowing visibility of more applications.
The USB to DVI driver uses little computer resources and offers a very wide array of screen resolutions and color depths. This ensures that there is little difference in performance between a directly connected screen and a screen connected through the USB port.
Another interesting feature offered by this adapter is a very high level of versatility, since up to 6 VGA to DVI adapters can be used on one computer. Moreover, it supports output resolutions of up to 1600x1200 pixels, and measures just around 8.12 cm x 5.58 cm x 2.03 cm, which means that it will occupy a very small amount of space around the user's desktop.
The USB to DVI Graphics Adapter retails for around 130 US dollars, which is a very high price to pay for an adapter (but then again, none of Gefen's products is very cheap), but quite worth it, taking into account just how useful it could prove to be for a relatively large number of users. |
