Although the quality of the digital photos taken with camera phones is not exactly great, these devices are very popular among most users, due simply to their versatility. However, transferring the respective photos from the phone's memory into the computer isn't exactly an easy task (especially for the less-experienced users), and this is the reason why the people over at Belkin have launched back in the second half of 2007 the Bluetooth USB Adapter with KODAK Picture Upload Technology, which allows users to transfer their “beloved” works of digital art onto the computer in a much faster and easier manner.
Thus, according to the company, the adapter allows users to automatically transfer photos at full resolution from a camera phone to the PC. For this, it employs the aforementioned Kodak technology for automatically synching and uploading, as well as the Bluetooth standard v2.0 +EDR and USB 2.0-to provide a quicker connection time.
Moreover, the Bluetooth USB Adapter offers quite a high level of versatility. Thus, although it's designed especially for use with cell phones equipped with Bluetooth technology, the adapter also works with other Bluetooth enabled devices such as PDAs, headsets and printers. Unfortunately, we can't say the same about the compatible operating systems, as the included software only works with the Windows XP and Vista operating systems.
The Bluetooth USB Adapter from Belkin retails for around 50 US dollars, which, to tell you the truth, is way too much to pay for this thing. It's not like the device is not useful, but the only main difference from the wide variety of other similar (and cheaper) products available on the market is the fact that it automatically uploads the photos, which is not exactly that impressive a feature. |
