Piss-Screen
[ View all gadgets from Saatchi & Saatchi Germany ]

One of the most dangerous and stupid things a person could do after drinking one drink too many is to get behind the wheel of a car and drive himself home. Such an action might have quite a lot of nasty consequences, as it is a well-known fact that drinking and driving represent one of the most important causes of car accidents around the world. And in order to provide some sort of solution to this problem, the people over at SAATCHI & SAATCHI in Frankfurt have come up in the first half of 2007 with a very interesting system, dubbed the Piss-Screen.

Developed at the request of the Frankfurt Taxi Service, the Piss-Screen is a system that allows the person using the toilet to play a driving game. It features a pressure-sensitive inlay set within urinals, which allows users to play while they pee, the game itself being displayed on a special screen set above each of the urinals. The game starts as soon as somebody starts using the respective urinal and the player is actually capable of controlling the car's movements whilst relieving himself by simply peeing in the direction in which the car should move.

According to the team that developed this interesting system, the overall design of the driving game resembles quite a lot that of the famous "Need for Speed" franchise, requiring relatively quick reactions. Quite obviously, as the level of alcohol in the body rises, the response speed seriously diminishes, thus proving the player that he's not just "tipsy" but seriously intoxicated.

The developers haven’t provided any pricing information regarding the Piss-Screen system, but, whatever it might cost, this device is definitely worth every penny (or eurocent), considering the fact that it might actually save quite a lot of lives.
