Given the popularity enjoyed by GPS-enabled personal navigation devices nowadays, it's no wonder that just about every important consumer electronics manufacturers out there has launched such a product at some point in time. And that's also the case with Sanyo, who rolled out back in September 2008 the Easy Street NVM-4370 model, which offers a fairly large number of features and options, some of them found mostly in devices a few times more expensive than this one.

The device has been fitted with a 4.3-inch TFT LCD touchscreen, which allows users to view the navigation maps even in bright light. It also incorporates text-to-speech technology, which means that drivers will be quite promptly informed regarding the route they must take to their destination.

The Easy Street NVM-4370 also supports an additional TMC receiver, which allows drivers to view real-time traffic and weather information. Plus, the Auto/Manual Detour feature will calculate an alternative route so users can avoid any incidents that might be blocking the shortest route to their destination.

Sanyo's GPS navigator also sports a Bluetooth module, which turns it into a speakerphone for the driver's mobile phone, as well as a video input terminal and cable, which allows users to view the images transmitted by a back-up camera directly on the PND's display.

Like any modern PND should, the device from Sanyo also provides several entertainment-related functions, such as a music player (compatible with MP3, WMA (non-protected) and WAV music files), a video player that supports MPEG4 video clips, and a photo viewer. The multimedia content can be stored either in the device's own internal memory or on SD cards, and the navigator also features a built-in FM transmitter, which allows users to play music stored on SD cards or within the unit's internal memory through an open FM station on the car's stereo system, even while in navigation mode.

The Sanyo Easy Street NVM-4370 can be purchased for around 200 – 300 US dollars, depending on the particular store, which is quite a good deal, given the numerous functions this device can provide.

I can not find maps for Europe to download to my NVM4370 Sanyo. Crap Sanyo.

Have used the NVM-4370 about a year and have been very unhappy with it. I have tried all the settings and it just doesn't have many of the country roads and will route you miles out of the way. I have not been pleased with it at all. Wish I had bought a more reliable brand.

It seems to work good for me. Lots of features for small price. HOWEVER, doesn't seem to have any NAVTEK map updates. I have left an email contact with NAVTEK when there is an update... haven't heard anything.

Haven't had the thing a month and it stopped working. Several open boxes in the stores, I guess everyone is having problems with this unit.
