Over time, the Amcor company has released a series of reasonably priced, yet not exactly fantastic GPS navigation systems, most of these products providing mid-range features. And this is also the case with the device you're about to see as follows, namely the 3900 model, launched back in the first half of 2007, a PND that looks and behaves pretty much like any other similar product available on the market.
Thus, the 3900 is built around a Samsung 400 Mhz CPU and 64 MB Flash / 64 MB RAM, used for running both the Microsoft Windows CE. Net 5.0 Core Version operating system and the Nav N Go / Tele Atlas navigation software.
Since we're mentioned earlier the navigation issue, it's important to note the fact that the PND has been equipped with a 3.5-inch TFT full-color touch screen, which provides a 320 x 240 pixels resolution and a 350 cd / m2 brightness level. Furthermore, the navigation maps come either on SD cards (the device supports memory cards with storage capacities of up to 2 GB) or can be later-on uploaded via USB, while the 3900 is capable of offering spoken instructions either via the built-in speakers or headphones.
The device also offers users a premium set of multimedia features, which include photo viewing (bmp, jpg, gif, png), music (MP3, WAV) and video (AVI) playback. Furthermore, the whole device is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery (1000 mAH), although no information regarding the available functioning life is provided.
The Amcor 3900 retails for around 160 – 200 US dollars, which is quite an acceptable price to pay for such a product, compared with all of the other similar PNDs available on the market.
Given to me as a gift about 1 year ago and did not use it seemed to hard.
I needed to get to some where and had no idea how to get there and tried it.
It got me there with no problem, could have been a slightly easier way to arrive therebut did the job.
Do not buy this device, it is suck, been 3 years now since I brought this thing, still no sign can update the map, new street and road coming every day, also this device don't give right direction, going a simple route, couple turn a few block, but it keep telling you the wrong direction.
I purchased the Amcor 3900 in 2008. I used it once in 2009. t was totally off route for 2 hours. I never reached my destination. I never used it again . Now I am about to travel and want to try it again it does not charge. What should I do?
