Due to the fact that the popularity of GPS devices has virtually skyrocketed over the past few years, the number of manufacturers who got involved on this specific market segment also increased. And one such company is Xroad, who has managed to come up with several such products, including the one that you're about to see as follows, namely the V4150, a GPS navigator that offers quite an good price-per-features ratio.
The display is one of the most important components of any PND, and this is the reason why the V4150 has been equipped with 4.3-inch digital TFT LCD touch-screen display, specially treated against sun-glare. Furthermore, the LCD has a brightness level of 350 cd, a display resolution of 480 x 272 pixels, 16.7 million colors and a display size of 95.04 x 53.85 mm.
The device is powered by a Samsung S3C2440/400Mhz processor, which is used for running both the Microsoft WinCE.Net Core Version 5.0 operating system and the navigation software. And since we're on this subject, it's also worth mentioning the fact that the V4150 has been equipped with a SirfStar III GPS chipset, WAAS-enabled for enhanced positioning accuracy.
Despite having around 62 MB of built-in NAND Flash memory, Xroad's V4150 relies on SD memory cards (128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB) for storage and provides a normal range of connectivity options for such products, including here USB 1.1, a TMC connection port, an ear-jack interface, etc. Furthermore, the V4150 also incorporates a Bluetooth module, compliant with the V2.0 EDR specification, which allows it to work with stereo headphones or to double as a handsfree system.
The PND gets all its necessary power from a 2100mA Li-Polymer battery, and, like most products of this type, is very portable, measuring around 26cm x 147cm x 83cm, at a weight of 285 grams.
The V4150 GPS navigator from XRoad retails for around 270 - 350 US dollars, which is a pretty acceptable price range, taking into account the features and specs this device provides. |
