For a few years now, the world's general climate has gone mad, with excessive waves of heat in the summer, and even fall, and painfully cold weather in winters. That is why you can never be prepared anymore, for what a certain season has for you. That means being able to keep cool in hot summers, but also having enough storage space in the freezer for all sorts of frozen foods in the winter. And if you could do that in an environmentally-friendly way, that would be even better.
It appears that now you can, thanks to the RFG299 fridge from Samsung. For those that just can’t stand to be away from their technology, even while in the kitchen, this Samsung fridge is right for you. With a 7-inch touchscreen LCD built right into the door, you can control your refrigerator from the outside.
The LCD display allows users to control the refrigerator's temperature or monitor its water filter status, but also access integrated calendars, schedules, photos, nutrition facts and unit conversions. Apart from the built-in gadget, the fridge has the largest capacity of any standard-sized refrigerator with a French door design, at 28.5 cubic feet, Samsung claims. The company achieved a 14 percent bump in capacity compared to its older French door design by using high-rate urethane insulation technology to reduce the wall thickness.
The fridge also uses LED lighting that offers better internal illumination and is Energy Star-compliant. It also sports a door alarm that will go off when any of the three doors are left open for longer than two minutes.
Now available in stainless steel, the Samsung RFG299 French Door Refrigerator is priced at approximately 4,000 US dollars. Other colors, including stainless platinum, black and white, are expected to join the range in the future. |
