Due to ongoing climate changes, each summer seems to be even hotter than the last. This is why air-conditioning system are so popular nowadays, but not all people are so lucky as to afford one, and this is the reason why SharperImage is selling the device you're about to see as follows, namely the Spire Fan with Remote Control.
The device sports a vertical spinning drum fitted with 100 tiny fan blades and is capable of oscillating at 70 degrees in order to generate an air current that blows at 43.18 to 0.93 meters from the floor level. Moreover, as the name itself says, the Spire Fan comes with its own wireless infrared remote control unit, which can be used for controlling the fan's functions while sitting comfortably in another part of the room.
The remote unit also incorporates a temperature sensor that communicates back to the fan, and allows users to measure and set the desired temperature. Thus, all that users have to do is place the remote sensor in the area of the room where the "target" temperature should be measured, and then select the desired temperature (somewhere between 18 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius). The sensor will then constantly monitor the temperature in the desired area, and the fan will stay on until that temperature is reached and maintained.
However, it won't stay on forever, since the device also includes a power-saving feature, namely an auto shut-off timer with a waiting period of up to four hours.
The Spire Fan with Remote Control is available for around 100 US dollars, which is really too much, considering that we're just talking about a pimped-up ventilator. After all, the equivalent price of 3 or 4 of these items will allow users to get a fully-functional AC machine, capable of providing a superior level of comfort, far superior to anything this device can offer. |
