Mailboxes have become very unsafe lately, since an increasing number of ill-intended people are either breaking into them looking for money or just for the pleasure of destroying another person's property. And this is exactly the reason why the people from the MedfordMailboxShop have launched in the first half of 2007 the Secure Mail Vault, a device that will keep the users' mail safe and sound under any circumstances.
Thus, the Secure Mail Vault is made from a very tough steel material, capable of withstanding vandalism as well as any tampering attempt. The device doesn't have any exposed nuts, bolts, screws or fasteners, and the recessed inner door can be set back 2 inches (5 cm), while being secured by heavy-duty deadbolts. Thus, the whole device looks like a single unit, a monolith that will be very tough to crack open.
Moreover, in order to assure the fact that only authorized users will be able to pick-up the mail, the Secure Mail Vault features a programmable touch pad entry system, which can be very easily programmed with a 4-digit security code. This very unusual mailbox also features a couple of sensor-controlled red and green LED lights that will notify the users of incoming mail, and carriers of outgoing mail.
The Secure Mail Vault is pretty roomy, too, since it can hold around 9 kilos of mail and accepts packages up to 4.5-cm thick. It can be left unattended for longer periods of time and thus allows the users to feel less-worried about the integrity of their mail while being away from home for the holidays. The manufacturers recommend that the device should be installed on a powder-coated steel post using the included special locking collar, in order to prevent the possible thieves from ripping from the ground altogether.
The Secure Mail Vault is available for around 300 US dollars, which seems to be a pretty fair price for a device that will keep the users' mail intact in just about any situation. |
