One of the nastiest phone-related issues is that it has the very irritating habit of ringing in the middle of the night or in a very delicate moment, thus disturbing either the user’s sleep or the important activity they were involved in.
However, for all the people out there that are expecting a very important phone call but, for various reasons, they don't want the phone's ringer to be heard, the people over at OneStepAhead have presented the Silent Light Phone Sensor, since the second half of 2006 , a device that replaces the sound signals with light flashes.
Thus, the Silent Light Phone Sensor has 4 lighting surfaces, each of them having a height of 10.16 cm and receiving the light from a powerful central LED. Moreover, the device sports a phone cable with a length of 2.3 meters, which is very easily connected to the phone in order to indicate when a call is received.
Even if, at first sight, this product might seem to be quite an interesting device to have around the house, the truth is that the Silent Light Phone Sensor is not exactly as effective as its manufacturers tout it to be. Thus, according to several user reviews, this item is rather small in reality, and one can actually overlook the fact that it’s flashing. Moreover, instead of flashing continuously while the phone is ringing, the Phone Sensor only lights up as the phone rings (namely, 1 flash = 1 phone ring), thus making it even harder to spot.
The device is available at several online retailers for around 10-15 US dollars, which is not that much to pay for such a device, but is worth it only if the user has quite keen attention skills.
