Owning a Bluetooth headset and using it on a rather frequent basis raises the issue of recharging, which in some cases can be a pretty difficult thing to do. Just imagine what would happen should you be forced to talk on the phone but there’s wouldn't be any power source around to recharge your Bluetooth headset?
Well, that would be a problem… But what if you didn’t have to recharge the battery and all you had to do was to replace it with a new one? This seems to be the concept of the Jabra BT2040 Bluetooth headset, a device that was especially designed to work without recharging.
Obviously, the headset must have a power source. The manufacturers have tried to avoid the need for recharging by implementing support for AAAA batteries but there are multiple advantages and disadvantages caused by this type of batteries.
One of the advantages would be the matter of fact that you don’t have to recharge the battery and it’s enough to replace it. However, just think that attaching an AAAA battery will increase the weight of the device and because we’re talking about a headset, this is one of the most important aspects. Sure, the device has only 16 grams and the battery approximately 10.5 grams but still, this might actually represent a serious problem.
Then, the AAAA batteries are quite rare so you may encounter difficulties when trying to buy such power sources. Maybe the AAA batteries could represent a more comfortable alternative? However, the manufacturers took the decision to include an AAAA battery into the package, so you should not encounter problems until the battery gets drained.
And because we’re talking about the package, you also get an ear hook and a multi-lingual user manual. All these goodies are available for as much as $30. |
