Mustek is just one of the many Asian companies that have tackled just about every area of the consumer electronics' market, launching several families of products that are not necessarily renowned for their top-quality, but rather for their relatively low price. However, Mustek's products are rather interesting, and one good example is the MBT-SA120 Bluetooth Headset, launched by the company back in the second half of 2006.
As expected, the most important advantage offered by the MBT-SA120 is the lack of wires. The headset can be used with a wide range of devices, from cell phones to PDAs and notebook computers (actually, all devices that support the Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution Profile – A2DP), and is capable of delivering a relatively high-quality stereo sound at a range of up to 10 meters (since the device is compliant with the Bluetooth version V1.2 specification).
Moreover, the device sports a last call redial and voice dialing feature, which means that the users can make phone calls directly, by simply pressing a button on the headset, without having to actually use their cell-phone.
The dongle is plug-n-play with a universal 3.5mm (1/8 inch) audio plug, while the snug foam headphones provide an increased level of freedom, representing a very good solution for those people who want to listen to music while practicing various outdoors sports. Moreover, the headset has a very ergonomic and comfortable behind-the-neck design, and is also very portable, since it measures just around 14.5 x 13 x 7 cm.
The MBT-SA120 provides a data transfer rate of 723.2 Kbps, sports an integrated Bluetooth antenna and is powered by a rechargeable Li-Polymer battery. Although it's not that competitive, Mustek's MBT-SA120 Bluetooth Headset is available at various retailers for around 75-100 US dollars, which is a relatively good price, compared to other similar products available on the market. |
