You might not think that routers are all that important, whether wired or wireless. But when we are faced with an over crowded house, full of cables for each of your network devices, we start to think about a router's advantages. Routers are becoming more of a household name and the continues advancement in technology make them more reliable and help them deliver an enhanced level of performance. D-Link is one of the most important manufacturers of networking products and they released back in the first half of 2007, the D-660 Limited Edition Xtreme N Gigabit Router with On-Board Display.

The product benefits from the latest technologies in wireless connectivity, which means that you will deal with higher network speeds for every compatible device you might have. There are several products out there that can offer you the benefits of the n Draft wireless technology, that's why D-Link decided to raise the bar. The D-660 has been equipped with a built-in OLED display, offering users important information about the network and router status.

The idea behind the D-660 router, was “You can never have too much information”, that is why the Network Activity Display provides users with critical informations. Regarding performance, the D-660 makes full use of the n Draft technology, which is meant to increase your device network speed and range. The same standard is backwards compatible with 802.11 b and g, letting all your wireless devices connect to the router.

If you require higher network speeds, availability comes in the form of four Gigabit ports built-in the device. The router also benefits from the industry's standards on matter of security, so you need not worry. There are 3 External Reverse SMA antennas, providing the necessary range for your home. The device should be easy to install as it benefits from a web-based management interface.
