Have you ever found yourself in the situation of being in another country and desperately looking for a wireless Hot Spot? In those cases, in order to find the required wireless Internet connection you will have to either leave your device switched-on or activate it each time you think you found the place. Well, that practice seems rather silly, time consuming and even stressful. Perhaps for this reason IOGEAR came out with the Wi-Fi Finder.

The product has been in the market for some years now, but I bet many of you will still find it interesting and useful. IOGEAR's little Wi-Fi Finder is an RF wireless device that detects Wi-Fi 802.11b and 802.11b/g signals. The cool thing about it is that you can attach this small device to your key chain, just like you will do with your car's remote control. In fact, IOGEAR's device works pretty much the same way as one of those devices you use for finding your car in large parking lot. In this way, you won't need to turn on your wireless device, each time you need to locate a Internet Hot Spot.

The Wi-Fi finder is capable of recognizing and detecting wireless 802.11 b and g devices while avoiding interference from other devices such as 2.4GHz cordless telephones, A/V senders, microwave ovens and Bluetooth devices. Once you are near a Wi-Fi Hot Spot, the four LEDs provided with the product should give a pretty good idea of how big is your wireless signal. This should come in handy to those users that spent their time in hotels with Wi-Fi Hot Spots, but can't seem to find where the signal is stronger.

With a price tag that shouldn't get higher than $30 this small device should come as a handy tool to serious number of users.
