Who says that when you go out and buy a standard wireless router you will receive a little or larger box with a couple of antennas on it? Well, Linksys seems to think that a wireless router can provide the necessary bandwidth while still having a stylish and futuristic design. This is why they came out with the Wireless-N WRT310N Gigabit Router back in January 2008. The product was part of a serious family of similar products, part of the Ultra RangePlus which were meant to debut at CES 2008.
The Linksys Wireless-N WRT310N Gigabit Router uses the industry's latest wireless technology, namely the IEEE 802.11 N Draft. This new technology allows, through the implementation of several features, higher data rates and a higher area coverage. This is available with the help of Wireless N's MIMO (Multiple In, Multiple Out) technology, which uses multiple radios per band to create robust signals for maximum range and speed, with reduced dead spots. The Wireless-N WRT310N Gigabit Router is backwards compatible with the wireless 802.11 b and g standards. The router is capable of working with different devices at their own designated speeds.
Besides the fact that it looks good and offers an incredible wireless bandwidth rate, the router can also support a 4-port full duplex Gigabit switch. In this way the user is left with the choice of wired or wireless network connection. The router can provide easy customization and installation trough a user friendly web interface. For a wide spread network it can provide a DHCP server, allowing different devices to connect with a simple mouse click.
Security is an important part of the Linksys WRT310N Gigabit Router as it brings a powerful SPI firewall with a 256-bit Wireless Encryption. The Linksys Wireless-N WRT310N Gigabit Router has an estimated price tag of $129.99. |
