It's quite a well known fact that there are a lot of people out there who are simply fascinated by those products capable of providing various functions, some of them completely different from one another. And that's also the case (at least to some extent) with the following product, namely the Point'n View Binoculars with Built-In Digital Camera, presented by the Barska company. This rather unusual optical device is capable of carrying out two very important functions: that of allowing users to bring “closer” things taking place at a fairly large distance, and in the same time, take digital photos. Practically, all the person using this device has to do is simply look through the binoculars and record the scene with the digital camera. Once the scene is recorded, one can download it to a PC and edit it with the included software. Moreover, just as in the case of any compact camera, the binoculars from Barska can also be used for recording entire video clips. Since they're part a digital camera, the binoculars have been equipped with certain accessories and components typically found in the latter category of products. Thus, the Point'n View sport a 1.5-inch TFT LCD display, an USB interface, an SD memory card slot, display menu / image capture control panel, a 5-megapixel CMOS image sensor and a focus range between 18 meters and infinity. However, that doesn't mean that the optical components are any less impressive. The Point'n View sports a 32 mm objective lens with 8x zoom and multi-coating, a roof-type prism and a central focus system. Additionally, the field of view is quite good (102 meters at 1000 meters) and the same can be said about the minimum focusing distance (5 meters). The Barska Point'n View Binoculars with 5-megapixel digital camera sell for around 250 US dollars, which is quite an affordable price point, even for those people who are not particularly crazy about multi-purpose products. |
