Meade's mySky Explorer device is an easy to use portable device designed to guide you through the night sky like no other. Meade's patented technology allows the mySky to outperform any other handheld night sky exploration device on the market, or at least that's what the company claims.
The Meade mySky comes with a personal guide for night sky exploration and is quite easy to use, since all you have to do is simply “point and shoot “ in order to identify the planets, the stars, the constellations and many more. The device enables you to see images, watch videos and hear audio description of the celestial body that interests you most.
Besides that, MySky incorporates full GPS Auto Alignment technology, which does not require any user input, just a simple switch on. To make the job easier, the mySky provides information to the user in various multi media formats, ranging from video and audio to still images, Sky maps and text.
It seems that the system is capable of updating object information, tours and program improvements from the Internet. The best part is that you can control your Meade telescope from your own personal computer.
The main specifications include an illuminated sights to easily point the objects, a database of over 30.000 celestial objects, as well as a 480 x 234 pixel colorful LCD display and comfortable high fidelity ear buds for listening to the audio that accompanies each movie.
Along with the gadget, you also get a 256MB capacity storage card, enough to store all the information you need. As for the orientation and the positioning, the device features magnetic north sensors and electric accelerometers to determine with more accuracy the user's actual position in space.
The handheld device works for 6 hours straight with 4 AA batteries and, as far as the pricing and availability details are concerned, it's worth mentioning that the mySky Explorer retails online for about 300 bucks a piece! |
