Coby Electronics is a private corporation founded in 1990 by Mr. Young Dong Lee. The company'goal is the manufacturing and distribution of high quality user friendly electronics including Home, Portable and Home Theater DVD Players, CD/MP3 players, Portable MP3 Players. Coby is also an OEM manufacturer for brands like Samsung, NEC and Daewoo.
One of the company's audio player devices is the CX-CD487. While the name sound more like a top secret military device, the device is in fact a CD player. Imagine and old school portable CD player slimed down to the size of an actual CD and with some interesting new features.
The CX-CD487 comes with a 45 second anti-skip memory buffer. Now what this actually does is very important because CD players are prone to track skipping because of their mechanical nature, but with the included memory, the player actually fills the buffer with audio information and plays the music directly from the buffer while at the same time reading from the CD to update the buffer. So if you are running to catch a bus and the CD can't be read anymore because of sudden moves, you will still enjoy a smooth music experience.
An included highly sensitive AM/FM radio receiver will make sure you do not get bored by your own music and will put you up to date with important news. The digital LCD display along with programmable track display allows users to customize their music experience in case some of the tracks become boring. Coby also integrated a Dynamic Bass Boost System, so if any of your tracks are kind of shy, just boost their confidence by activating amplifying the bass.
Aesthetics have not been left aside since the device comes in a silver finish complemented by the round blue lit LCD, all packed up in a slim design that is no larger than a CD case.
The player can be purchased on-line at a price of 24,99$. |
