Since the Kodak company has been intimately associated with the photography market over the past couple of decades, it's actually no wonder that it has also decided to get involved into the digital photo frames' segment as well. Hence, Kodak has come up with a relatively wide variety of products of this type over the past year and a half or so, including here the particular model you're about to see as follows, namely the EASYSHARE SV1011 Digital Picture Frame, released at some point in the first half of 2007, which offers a couple of interesting features, but more or less basic, compared to the more advanced products of this type currently available on the market. As one might guess from the name itself, the SV1011 has been equipped with a aSi TFT active matrix display measuring 10 inches in diagonal, while the actual display area is of 8.9 × 5.3 in. (225 × 135 mm). The frame's display resolution is of 800 × 480 pixels, while the brightness level (300 cd/m2) and contrast ratio (300:1) are more or less standard for this family of products. It's also interesting to mention the fact that the digital photo frame features a LED-based backlighting system, as well as KODAK Light Management Film inserted in the display itself, in order to provide a bright, clear display with very good viewing angles. The digital picture frame offers users a couple of very interesting and useful functions, as for example photo slideshows, thumbnails, copy, delete, and print, selectable viewing hours featuring automatic on/off settings, as well as a handy remote control. Moreover, the drag-and-drop feature makes transferring pictures a very easy process. And since we've come to the subject of transfers, it's also quite important to mention that the SV1011 incorporates a memory card reader (compatible with Secure Digital (SD), Multimedia Card (MMC), MEMORY STICK (MS), XD-Picture Card (xD), COMPACTFLASH (CF), MICRODRIVE (MD) formats), as well as an USB 2.0 port, which can be used for connecting the digital frame to a host computer. The Kodak EASYSHARE SV1011 Digital Picture Frame sells for around 200 US dollars, which is well within the market limits for this brand of devices, given the fact that, after all, we're talking about an older model here. |
