Over the past few years, the Mustek company has managed to make a name for itself on the digital photo frames' market by releasing all sorts of new and attractive products. And that's one of the reasons why the firm has released back in the first half of 2008 the PF-i700 model, which also incorporates an iPod connector, beside its more common features.
The main point of attraction offered by Mustek's digital photo frame is represented by the built-in 7-inch TFT LCD panel, which delivers an overall resolution of around 480 x 234 pixels, as well as 16:9 aspect ratio. Furthermore, the device works with a pretty wide range of file formats, including here JPEG (up to 12 Mpixels), MPEG-1/2, Xvid, Motion-JPEG (for video) and MP3 (for audio), which means that the device can actually play the part of a media player, at least to some extent, especially since it has also been equipped with a 2 x 1W speakers.
The PF-i700 provides quite an extensive set of connectivity options, as far as digital photo frames go. Thus, the device features an USB 2.0 interface (transfer speeds of up to 480 Mbps), as well as an A/V output, a headphone jack and, as expected, an iPod connector. Furthermore, the photo frame has also been equipped with a memory card reader, which works with some of the most popular card formats around, including here SD, MMC, MS, MS Pro, xD and CF.
The device also offers users a relatively medium number of controls and adjustment features, as it allows them to choose between the browse, slideshow and thumbnail photo viewing options, while the included buttons control the following functions: Left/Prev, 2. Right/Next, 3. Down/Volume Down, 4. Up/Volume Up, 5. Enter/OK, 6. Rotate, 7. Stop, 8. Play/Pause.
The Mustek PF-i700 digital photo frame can be purchased for around 130 US dollars from various online retailers, which makes it a pretty affordable and potentially successful device, taking into account all the features it can provide (especially for all the iPod owners out there). |
