Since Polaroid went bankrupt and survives only by selling its brand name, we found its name on TVs and now on digital audio player. Which, surprisingly, are not bad at all. In fact, the design it's pretty cool, it features a black glossy casing, a little too much Samsung-like patterns and a pleasant interface. But, as a whole, it was a nice surprise.
The company dubbed the device, MPA-20011, but I hope they're going to change this funny codename to something nicer. If not, you'll still have the black sexy design to gaze at, or the FM tuner to switch one while being caught in the traffic jam.
Regarding the player's capabilities, it can deal with a lot of common file formats, including the popular MP3 and WMA for the audio playback, the MPEG and WMV for video content viewing, and JPEG for photo slide showing. The player is powered by a Li-ion battery and it can keep the player juiced up to 25 hours, which is a lot for a player of its kind.
The player's screen looks great. It measures a decent 2.2” and and gives the illusion of being integrate part of the whole casing. The device's navigation is performed with a Blackberry-like jog dial and button on the right side of the player. Its built-in GUI is also smooth and intuitive, so anyone can handle the item.
Just like former versions of the device, such as MPA-28216 and MPA-43315, this model is also Wi-Fi enabled. The MPA-2011 is available since march 2007 with a starting price of approximately 100 bucks. The device differs from other versions, as it lacks the classy touchscreen, therefore it doesn't represent a freight to other big fish on the market, such as SanDisk, as some might believe. |
