Bluetooth is one of the most popular wireless data and voice transfer technologies around, as it offers users a very high degree of versatility during use. Bluetooth is embedded in almost all the new mobile phones launched on the market, but Samsung has decided to take things a step further and has released back in the first half of 2008 a Bluetooth-enabled portable music player, dubbed the T10.
The device is compliant with Bluetooth specification Version 2.0, which allows two sets of headphones to be paired with the T10. For this reason, the device supports two of the most common Bluetooth profiles, namely A2DP (advanced audio streaming) and AVRCP – remote control via Bluetooth.
Furthermore, the T10 incorporates DNSe 2.0 technology, which delivers superior sound quality so it can be reproduced the way it was intended through sound personalisation, user equaliser setting and bass extension.
Although this can be hardly considered an important selling point, the device from Samsung has been equipped with a 2-inch TFT LCD display, which delivers a 320 x 240 pixels resolution. While the size itself is not exactly fantastic, the manufacturers claim that it's very bright and is a pretty good solution for watching video clips at even 30 frames per second.
The player from Samsung also offers a fairly large amount of storage space, since it's available in 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB versions (the latter solely in Asia and Europe, at least for the time being). Thus, users will be able to store up to 80 hours of music in MP3 format (in the 4 GB version), which is quite enough for most people. However, if you're getting tired of all this music, you can always tune into your favorite radio station, as the device also comes packed with an FM tuner.
Another very impressive feature provided by the device from Samsung is related to the battery capacity. Thus, the device has been equipped with a very powerful Li-Polymer battery pack, which provides around 30 hours of playback (in audio mode) and up to 4 hours of playback (in video mode), which makes it a very good solution for those people who aren't very keen on recharging their devices very frequently.
The T10 portable media player from Samsung retails for around 160 US dollars (the 4 GB version), which makes it quite an attractive device, at least for those people who want to get rid all of the wires in their vicinity. |
