Although portable TV sets are not necessarily the most attractive or the most popular devices around, from time to time we come across certain products that really manage to draw our attention with a certain feature of function. And that's exactly the case with the PT-16H610S, a flexible LCD HDTV capable of flipping and folding in a very special manner, rarely (if ever) encountered in the case of other similar devices available on the market. Probably one of the most attractive things about the PT-16H610S is the fact that the designers have given it a very sleek lines and a fluid design and can sit on a countertop or be mounted on a wall or on the bottom of a hanging cabinet, with a full 180-degree rotation of the front bezel so the picture image is right side up. Moreover, the device from Westinghouse offers 480i/480p/720p/1080i/1080p HDMI input into native 1366 x 768 resolution with DayBright technology for high contrast during day and night viewing, built-in front-firing speakers (2-3.5 watts), and a 15.6-inch diagonal viewing area. The TV set also supports VGA, SVGA, XGA, WXGA+ PC resolutions and allows users to choose from the 3 preset color temperature values or to set their own values. Other important features worth mentioning about the LCD panel itself are the contrast ratio (500:1), number of available colors (16.7-million), color gamut (65% NTSC). Furthermore, the panel covers 65% of the NTSC color gamut, has a 8 ms response time (rather average, for such a display) and 90/65-degree horizontal/vertical viewing angles. The device offers some rather medium connectivity options, but nothing truly spectacular. Beside the aforementioned HDMI interface, the TV set also sports an RF antenna connector, a video input, an audio input and an audio output. The Westinghouse PT-16H610S has an estimated retail price of around 300 US dollars, which is actually not than bad, given the features and specs this device can provide. |
