One of the biggest (and in the same time, one of the few) problems that plague the players from Apple, the famous iPods, is the fact that the user must have a computer connected to the Internet in order to load music onto them. And since the number of users of such devices has boomed over the past few years, so did the number of people not quite happy about the iTunes system, which is used for purchasing and loading songs. For this reason, the iLoad was developed, since this is among the first products to allow the direct transfer of music from usual CDs onto iPods.
This portable device converts the music from the CD into compressed MP3 files, which it loads directly onto the iPod connected to it. A full CD, or just the tracks selected by the user can be transferred in 8 minutes tops, and the iLoad also has an internal database which can be used for adding automatically the name of the song, of the artist and details about the album when the tracks are transfered onto the iPod.
Moreover, the iLoad also has a headphone jack, which lets you listen to songs before deciding which of them you'll be loading. The device also charges iPod's battery while connected to it, and it can be linked to a computer via the USB port for updating its internal database.
The iLoad is very light and very portable (7.5 x 6.7 x 1.5 inches, 1 lb.), representing a very good solution for transferring our favorite music directly on your favorite player, and a free one, for that matter. It sells for around 250 US dollars (a bit pricey), but this sum will also bring you the necessary transfer cables.
