The Chimpanzee robot from WowWee is a life-size animatronic replication torso that can perform real Hollywood-like special effects, as well as exhibit realistic behavior and motions. Scary as it may sound, the WowWee Chimp features lifelike hair and skin, as well as a cool and expressive personality. Like most of the company's robots, this one is a multi-sensory, highly-communicative and fully interactive device, which has four individual moods it can be set on: curious, fearful, happy and angry.
More interesting, the Chimpanzee responds to mood-specific animations and sounds stimuli. The Infrared vision system is capable of detecting movement, tracking objects and reacting to human interaction. The robot is bundled with touch sensors in its chin, head and ears. Its stereo sounds sensors can detect loud sounds. For convenient use and higher interactivity level, the makers added a remote control, which can be used when choosing accessing either the program or the sleep mode.
When being in Alive Mode, the Chimpanzee will react to user interaction through his sensors with different animations depending on its mood. It will even perform little blinks and eye movement when not played with. To whom it may concern, the Interactive Alive WowWee Chimpanzee head is also available online for about $300; if you feel like adding a chimp on your workdesk, go for it! |
