I always thought that you need to buy special tools to do your garden work and household chores but I never imagined that you can have a robot, actually helping you out - doing them for you, that is. Well, that doesn't need to seem so sci-fi anymore, thanks to the leading robot manufacturer, iRobot, that announced that their Looj is able to clean your home’s gutters faster and easier than we do it with our hands.
Designed for standard K-style, aluminum, copper, metal or vinyl gutters that are wider than 3.25m, the 19-inch long and 13-inch wide iRobot Looj will only take 10 minutes to clean a sixty foot length of gutter. Oh, and not to forget, the Looj gutter cleaning robot is waterproof and comes with a wireless remote control.
The Looj spares you the effort of climbing and repositioning a ladder multiple times while juggling tools and over reaching from dangerous heights, thus making sure you stay safe and, at the same time, that your gutters are free from the pesky dirt that can cause water damage, overspills, ice dams, as well as a breeding ground for carpenter ants, mosquitoes and other pests.
Just because you can let the Looj work by itself that doesn't mean that it won't do a thorough job, as it moves both in forward and backward directions. Using the wireless handle/remote, you can control the direction of the robot and the three-stage auger that ensures that Looj covers the length of your gutters and propels debris away from your home.
The powerful 3-stage auger spins at 500 RPM to break up sludge and clogs, lift out debris and brush your gutters clean. The hard plastic disruptors break apart clogs, while natural rubber ejectors lift and throw the debris from your gutters, finally, sturdy polypropylene bristles brush your gutters clean. You control the direction of the auger using the wireless remote.
The Looj is available in three different versions, 120, 130 and 150 and retails for prices ranging from 100 to 170 US dollars. |
