Elliptical trainers have proved their worth over the past couple of years, allowing users to enjoy a full workout without having to change several different products in order to do so. And that's also the case with the particular model you're about to see as follows, namely the 1050 STS Elliptical trainer presented by Pro-Form, a device which offers several interesting extras beside its basic functions.
The device from Pro-Form is actually capable of replacing one's personal trainer, and that's because the 1050 STS comes with 20 Personal Trainer workouts that automatically adjust the resistance of the elliptical to focus on aerobic, weight loss, or performance goals. Furthermore, the elliptical trainer also includes 4 different heart rate workouts, which allow users to stay in the right training zone by automatically increasing the resistance when they need to raise their heart rate and decreasing the resistance when they need to lower it. Of course, in order to monitor one's heart rate, the device has also been equipped with special sensors, built within the the handlebars.
The 1050 STS also offers users a set of very interesting, interactive options. For example, it features a function called iFIT Fitness Journal, which stores and tracks the progress of 2 individual users, while generating up to 10 years of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly workout totals. Furthermore, it also incorporates the Interplay Music Dock with Universal iPod Dock, which allows users to plug in their own iPod or portable media player and listen to their favorite songs directly via the built-in sound system.
Additionally, the device is also equipped with a CoolAire workout fan, built right into the console, and uses a SMR (silent magnetic resistance) system. It offers a stride length of around 18 inches (45 cm), sports some pretty oversized pedals and supports users weighing up to 300 lbs. (136 kilos).
Since it's among the most complex elliptical trainers from Pro-Form, the 1050 STS is also the most expensive, selling for an estimate 1,700 US dollars, which, unfortunately, seriously reduces the product's target audience. |
