Darts is one of the world's most popular saloon games, being played by people on just about every continent. However, although the game itself has not evolved that much (at a conceptual level) over the past hundreds of years, the “equipment” used for playing it has evolved quite a lot, and one of the best examples of this evolution process is represented by the Genuine Bristle Dartboard with Electronic Scoring.
Thus, this particular device features a bristle surface that will not show punctures because the dart tips slide between the bristles rather than puncturing a flat surface, allowing the dartboard to naturally self-heal when the darts are removed. This advanced unit includes five LED displays for accurate scoring across 38 different games (with a total of 272 game variations), in addition to four XO-scoring Cricket displays.
The device allows up to eight players to play at once, and a Virtual Opponent mode can be activated for single play and practice. The board includes optional realistic sound and vocal effects with an adjustable volume control, and a patented handicap feature allows players to compete at the level appropriate to their skills. An auto-sleep function turns the board off when not in use.
The device is powered by an AC adapter and will most likely easily fit in just about any bar or household, measuring around 53.34 cm x 8.89 cm x 71.12 cm (21 x 3.5 x 28 inches), at a weigh of just around 15 pounds (6.8 kilos). Furthermore, it's not even that expensive, retailing for somewhere around 150 US dollars, quite an acceptable price for such an item. |
